Our Softball Program provides student-athletes with opportunities to develop strong fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence in a positive and competitive environment. Players are encouraged to support one another, grow through hard work, and compete with determination, sportsmanship, and pride as they represent our school.

Jeremy Wilson- Head Coach
Jeremy Wilson – Head Softball Coach
Jeremy Wilson is originally from Scottsboro, Alabama, and has been married to his wife, Crystal, for 17 years. Together, they have three children: Kayleigh, Liam, and Titus.
Coach Wilson has six years of experience coaching baseball and softball and is excited to begin this new chapter with Charger Softball. He looks forward to investing in the lives of student-athletes both on and off the field.
Outside of athletics, Jeremy is a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served for six years as a Combat Medic, including three years deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Most importantly, Coach Wilson is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He and his wife actively serve in the college ministry at The Church at Tuscaloosa, where they have been faithful members for the past four years. Coach Wilson is passionate about using athletics as a platform to encourage, mentor, and help young people grow in their faith and character.
Michael Bownes – Assistant Softball Coach
Michael Bownes brings a wealth of leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience to Charger Softball. He served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Alabama Attorney General’s Office for 15 years and later spent 12 years as Counsel and Secretary to the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees.
For the past 11 years, Coach Bownes has taught resiliency courses at The University of Alabama and has worked closely with several Crimson Tide athletic programs, including Women’s Basketball, Tennis, and Gymnastics, as well as multiple high school football teams.
On the softball field, Coach Bownes has nine years of varsity coaching experience. He spent seven seasons at Holy Spirit Catholic School, where he helped lead the program to a state championship in 2022, followed by one season at ACA and one season at Holt alongside Coach Jeremy Wilson.
His respect for the program’s tradition, combined with his extensive experience and passion for developing young athletes, makes him an outstanding addition to the Charger family.
