North River Christian Academy began as a ministry of Open Door Baptist Church. In the summer of 1981, the church established a daycare program for the children of working mothers. Each subsequent year a grade was added until they reached school age children. The school had programs for students beginning at birth and continuing through twelfth grade. The school has now grown over the years to its current enrollment of over three hundred students. In April of 1998, the school became accredited by ACSI; and since that time has also been recognized by the AdvancEd accrediting agency. NRCA offers an excellent college-preparatory academic program in addition to Bible, computer, music, piano lessons, Beta Club, and Honor Society. In the spring of 2016, North River Christian Academy and Preschool merged with New Beginning Academy. The school and the preschool are now operating as a ministry of New Beginning Family Worship Center.
